Background King of the River needed to deliver easy and understandable content for the fishing guides target audience, which includes female and male ages between 30 and 55 years of age. The site needed to also client's high degree of competency and professionalism as a guide on the world famous Kenai and Kasilof Rivers. After all, the website was the client's primary marketing tool. The website design and content needed to inspire confidence in the client's services. We achieved this by developing a visually competent design that speaks well of the clients abilities. Challenge We wanted the website's color scheme to appeal to viewers to read the content. Colors chosen were inspired by the color of the Kenai glacier fed waters. The color scheme was perfect in that they are tasteful and polite and appealed to both genders. We also used color sparingly. The focus here is on the content that sells our clients' services.
We wanted to provide a way for customers to book a reservation online that met the specification of the river guide service. We were presented with several solutions that made use of commercial software, however nothing that met the needs of our Client. We developed a customized booking system for King of the River to allow customers to securely and seamlessly place their reservations online with King of the River. We also developed a user friendly system administration to manage reservations placed online.
Finally, the new site architecture had to be simple, uncluttered and to easy to navigate. Although the new website has the some of same content as the old design, new content was added for Search Engine Optimization strategies. We limited the use of graphics elements to contribute to the sense of simplicity.
As a result, we have a makeover that works much harder to convince potential customers that our client's services are worthy of their consideration. Good web design sells more product!
